Senior Tailgate 2019: A Gate for Memories!

Michelle Li ‘20

It’s finally that time — seniors are starting a year of celebrations!

On Friday, October 11th, seniors were able to spend time together before their last Homecoming and Pink Out football game at the Senior Tailgate. According to many, this was an unforgettable experience that will stay with them even after high school has ended.

After eating some delicious food and spending time together at dinner, the seniors had the opportunity to watch Ridge’s football team play against Franklin High School. Hiral Solanki ’20 expressed that she was “so excited to go and spend time with friends” at the senior tailgate/game. Above all, she was very thankful that Ridge had given her this chance to make more memories with her best friends. The Senior Tailgate was an experience that made everyone happy. Lauren Polito ‘20 noted that her past friends enjoyed their tailgates as well, acknowledging that this was definitely a memorable event to kick off the first semester.

For many, it was also exciting to see who would be the next Homecoming King and Queen before the Homecoming Dance on Saturday. Twelve seniors and juniors made up the Homecoming Court this year, and at halftime, the king, queen, prince, and princess were announced. Congratulations to Homecoming King Austin Segal and Homecoming Queen Dhristi Raval! To top it off,  the Ridge football team brought home victory with a win of 35-7! Go Ridge!

The Senior Tailgate, the Pink Out Football game, and a nomination for Homecoming King and Queen were an opening gate for many new memories for seniors. As the year moves on, the seniors are eagerly anticipating more fun to finish off their last year at Ridge.
