Dear Reader,
Where do I begin? I don’t know if it’s possible to detail all my emotions regarding this first issue of The Devil’s Advocate without having to hide this smile of pride on my face, but I’ll try. Between the start of a new school year and homecoming dances, it has been a busy two months not just for the students of Ridge, but also for the staff of this newspaper as well. The events that have happened in Ridge as well as outside of Ridge have kept us buried in work. Nevertheless, the stress and the work has paid off as we present to you the first issue of The Devil’s Advocate this year.
In this issue, you will find articles ranging from updates on Ridge’s award-winning Forensics Team to analyses on the antics of the fascinating pop star, Miley Cyrus. You will also find artwork done by some of our talented artists as well as photos highlighting the awesome 2013 Ridge Pep Rally.
As co-editor in chief, I feel many things about the work we do at The Devil’s Advocate, but thankless is not one of them. I am sure that this newspaper would not have lasted this long without our amazing writers, our diligent editors, and of course, you, our loyal readers. If you like what you see here, don’t hesitate to share our website with your friends! We hope you enjoy reading the November Issue of The Devil’s Advocate just as much as we enjoyed working on it.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Sincerely,
Helena Xie ‘14
Co-Editor in Chief
