This season’s NBA Draft will feature many franchise type players like Joel Embiid, Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins. It may be early in the College Basketball season, but when is it too early to do a mock draft!
Coming into the college basketball season many, NBA draft experts predicted that Andrew Wiggins would undoubtedly go first overall. Games have rolled by, players have been tested and now Joel Embiid has risen in the ranks to the top prospect spot in the draft. While Wiggins draft stock has lowered, Embiid’s has gone up. The seven footer from Cameroon can shoot the three, rebound and block.
Kyle Brady ‘16, weighed in on the situation: “Not often does a draft class come along like this…I expect Embiid and Randle to be top 5 picks, while Harris and Smart look more like top 10 or 15… It will very interesting in 5 to 10 years to really see if this draft class panned out to be all it could be.”
On the other hand, Peter Alexis ’16 disagreed. “A lot of potential for these kids. However, if you think about it, they are all only 18 years old”
One thing is for sure, the upcoming draft in June is sure to be intriguing.
